Koby, my little brother, left his KD hat here when he stayed with me. This is how I told him he left it here. He quickly informed me that this was his favorite hat and that KD stands for Kevin Durant. Haha! My bad. I’m not up with the fads, apparently. Haha! I decided to attend a 12:30 Crossfit class with my friend, Yona, today. It was pretty intense and the heat intensified it that much more. When getting ready, I was stuck wearing these grey pants because all of my black ones were wet from the washing machine. Tori and I pretty much pledge to black pants to avoid our sweat showing through. Ha! I was a victim to that today. I could see the sweat for sure. Oopsy. 

When getting ready today, I liked how my silhouette looked when passing our living room mirror. It’s always good when you like the way your body looks because, at least with me, it is not an occasion that frequents. So… I snapped a shot to share. ;) Haha!

The workout today was pretty hardcore and the warmup contributed greatly as well. The workout:

Warmup:
200 m run
100 m farmers carry w/ 35lb kb
10 kb swings
10 wall ball shots
10 cleans w/ med ball
2 minutes calf stretch
2 minutes couch stretch
Strength:
Work on squat cleans and jerks
WOD:
7 RFT
200 m run
10 box jumps (20”)
1 squat clean and jerk as heavy as possible 

By the time the strength portion began, I had sweat trickling off my body. Ha! I like clean and jerks, so I didn’t mind the practice with them. For the WOD, I used 105lbs and breezed through the c&j portion. I tried to use 85 and got busted to use more. It was the run and box jumps that made it harder. This is one of those workouts that by round 5, you’re asking why it isn’t over yet, but when you get finished, you have a proud feeling for getting through it. I went rx with 105 and finished at 21:00. I can work with that. :)

I’m now going to get my beach time in since the weather is actually pretty today.

We have been vouching that we want to get back in the habit of going to church on Sundays, so we were up and out early this morning. I’m proud that we followed through with it. My mom bought me the cute dress I wore today, so I sent her a picture and decided I’d post it. Oh, and I saw my crossed legs and thought they looked skinny, so I snapped a pic of it too. Haha! Happy moment!

When we got home from church, Tori and I teamed up to knock out brunch. I made coffee, eggs, and bacon while she slaved over our vanilla coconut pancakes. It was all so yummy! Kudos to the chefs (that being us)!!! 😉

Oh, and I totally forgot to update y’all with a selfie of my new haircut I got Friday. It’s not all that different than before, but I did add my bangs back. 

Well, I’m going to find something to get into so I can enjoy my day. Have a fabulous Sunday, all you wonderful people. ❤️

Well, today has been a productive and laid back day. I just wish the sunshine would come back out for my last bit of summer. Rain, rain, go away! ☔️☀️

When looking the workout online last night, I didn’t think it’d be one I’d want to go to, but then again, I can’t imagine missing a workout called “Diddy Kong.” Haha! 🐵🐒🐵🐒

So… I went and it was hard. We started with am Olympic weightlifting class to work on our snatches. I’m pretty good at this lift but definitely called out today as an exemplar of what not to do. I honestly don’t think it was because I don’t know what to do; I think it was the fact that I was lifting 35lbs and felt like I was going to throw it through the roof. Lifting lighter weight can sometimes mess up my technique because it’s too easy. That’s just my opinion though.

The workout was pretty intense with the high weights being slung around. I went rx on the weights for the workout but had to scale the pull-ups because of my ripped hands- doggone it. Ha! A girl named Tori (not my roomy) and I were sharing our weights so it kind of slowed is down waiting on each other. I finished at 18:54 and technically should take some time off that since I started after her on the deadlifts. 

Kyle, our coach, deadlifted 405lbs today!! What?!? That’s insane! I had to take pictures and a video to show Tori it could be done. Haha! 

Today Tori (yes roomy) and I had a yummy lunch, went grocery shopping, prepped meals for next week, and are cooking an awesome dinner now. Hopefully it’s as good as it smells. Mmmm!!!

What’s worse than having one ripped hand?!?! Having two!!!

I was busy wrapping up my already ripped hand tonight and didn’t even think about taking care of my other one to prevent another rip. Oopsy!!! I will live though. 

On the way home from Crossfit, I noticed my new, cute chalk freckles. Haha! I think it’s a good look for me. ;) 

Tonight’s workout was pretty hard. I’m definitely feeling my time off from the gym lately. Sheesh!

The workout:
Strength: 7 minutes double under practice
WOD: 20 minute AMRAP
5 pull-ups
10 push-ups
15 air squats

I did my first 7 rounds of pull-ups with the thinnest band there was but then my other hand ripped, and I went down to 15 push-ups. Lame. I couldn’t help it though. I got a total of 9 rounds tonight and will work with that. 

Well, I’ll still call tonight a success even though I didn’t do that great. It was fun! Oh, and one of our long lost mafia members made a surprise appearance tonight, so it was great to workout with her. :)

Jezebel and I are sharing a good self image day. Haha! 

I tried on these shorts for the first time since last summer and got excited. I used to hate the way these shorts fit my thighs. They’d cut into me and make me feel super duper insecure. They’re still a bit snug on my thighs but now my thighs are much more toned and they don’t cut into me any. Happy moment!! :) 

When I went to take my good-self-confidence-selfie, Jezebel jumped in the picture me, so I figured she must be feeling confident today as well, so we took a model photo of her being my Miss Priss. Haha! I wish I was as photogenic as my dog.

Well, the sun is out so I’m taking Jez for a walk and then I’m hitting the beach or pool. It’s a win-win day!

Whoooo… I did not know what I was getting myself into at crossfit this morning! First off, I woke up to some seriously sore arms. I didn’t even realize my arms were sore yesterday and today it was like BOOM! James (my coach today) said it’s what they call DOMS - delayed onset of muscle soreness. I definitely got a case of the DOMS today. Haha!

I get to crossfit and am the only person working out. So it’s just me and the coach, which is already pretty intimidating. 

The workout:
Strength:
Find 1RM full snatch
4x10 GHRs
WOD:
21-15-9 (scaled from 21-21-21)
Front squats at 75
Burpees
GHD sit-ups

I have never found a 1rm for full snatches, so this was interesting for me. I can do the power snatch easily, but the full throws me off with the squat position at the end. I always tend to lose my balance when jumping and landing in that position with weight above my head. I got 85lbs and am perfectly kosher with this amount. 

The workout was hard. I don’t know what got into me but after my first round, I started feeling sick. I took a couple of breaks to catch my breath and try to not get sick during round 2 but was definitely, as Tori would say, on the *struggle bus* with this workout. During the middle of the third round, I got sick. Yes- sick sick! But I felt better afterwards and finished my workout despite throwing up. Ha! The coach was impressed that I went back to finish. I knew I would. Getting sick won’t stop me. Haha! ;)

Then I came home and made this yummy breakfast (pictured above). Now, I don’t know what to do. The weather isn’t exactly pretty and beachy. It needs to step up its game for my last two weeks off and be pretty every day!!!

So… I’m a dork and fully embrace that quality (yes, I said quality) in myself. ;) Haha! When writing lesson plans for the year today, I decided that every Monday is going to be “M.U.G.SHOT MONDAY” where we cover M*mechanics, U*usage, and G*grammar. Yay! I’m so pumped about this idea! And… Of course there’s an app for making mugshots with my face! Perfect! The students will love it! Ha!

I got a headache on my way home from work today and couldn’t shake it in time for crossfit, so I missed out tonight. I’m ok with that though. My arms are pretty sore. I’m going to do an at-home ab and thigh workout tonight to make up for it.
