One of my favorite things in the world is the fact that on my longest and roughest of days, Crossfit makes me feel better. My first day back was a bit overwhelming and discouraging with all the new testing and teacher evaluation stuff, but as soon as I stepped into that gym tonight, all was forgotten. I absolutely love it!

Tonight’s workout was pretty intense, but I feel like I did a pretty good job. 
The workout:
Strength:
1 RM Overhead Squats
4x8 GHR
WOD: 5 RFT
10 deadlift at 155
20 wallball shots

The last time I maxed out in OHS was November, and I got 75. Tonight, I got 105 and felt like I could have got a bit more but ran out of time. Boo! *BUT* I will not complain with that big of a jump. Whoop!

I went rx in the WOD and finished at 16:31. The deadlifts were heavy, but the wallball shots are what get me. Ha! I even hit myself in the face tonight. Oopsy!

I had my first ever kill cliff tonight. It was yummy, tasted like orange soda, and made me think of Keenan and Kel! Haha! I’m a dork. ;) Oh, and look at those guns! I impressed myself tonight when I flexed. Proud moment!

Well, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day. I’m going to try to make myself sleep. “Try” being the key word there.

It’s back to the grind today… I am going to need coffee galore to survive my day. What better shirt is there to start the first day with?!? Captain America all the way! 

I packed lunch and snacks, so I’m off to a good start on the healthy eating habits at school. Go me!!! Work is one of the easiest places to mess up a diet because I just want to snack, snack, snack!

… Meal planning over breakfast and coffee…

First off, and most importantly, let me just say that breakfast this morning was the BOMB!!! The bacon. The eggs. The pancakes with dark chocolate chips… All amazing!

I cannot believe I start back to work this week. Where does time go?!? With starting back, the meal planning got a little harder this time because we have to match schedules and timings again. Tori and I managed to get it sorted out though. :)

Now we are going to go get our grocery shopping done and have a girls night in and watch Crossfit games (hopefully if we can figure out how to stream it from the wii).

Tonight’s Crossfit was pretty laid back and fun. I was in a really good mood, the music was getting me hype, and the workout wasn’t too bad. 

Strength – 4 X 10 Bent over barbell rows (AHAP)
Immediately after – 4 X 10 ring push-ups
WOD 7 min AMRAP
7 OHS @ 96/65
7 Hang power cleans 95/65
-Cool down 35/35 GHD sit-ups & Hip extensions

I’ll be honest… I may have went lighter than I should’ve for the barbell rows. I went with 65 since that’s what I was using for the WOD, but I could’ve went heavier. Tori called me on it. Haha! I was told I was putting too much bounce in them though. That was funny. ;) The ring push-ups were fun the try out. I got giggly a couple of times with them but managed to get them done. 

I went rx in the workout and got 5+7 rounds. I will gladly take that. I felt like I was losing my balance when first doing the overhead squats, but I got it together after a couple of rounds. 

On a different note, I’m super pumped about tonight! My friend Cody and I are going to a BLACK LIGHT PARTY! The outfits you see above are our attires for the night. I love getting to dress up and be silly. I haven’t gone dancing in a while, so this is the perfect ending to summer break. ;)

So, I came across my Senior Memory Book yesterday and took a nice little trip down memory lane. I have so many amazing memories from then and was so pretty. I used to think I was “fat” back in high school because all of my friends were soooo tiny, but looking at pictures makes me wish I’d known then how pretty I was. My insecurities always got the best of me, and I wasn’t very confident at school. Dumb, dumb, dumb!

When looking at these pictures yesterday, I was curious as to how I compare now. Both of the pictures on the left are from my senior year in high school (2005), and the pictures on the right are from within the past month. The top left picture is my favorite picture from high school- I looked so pretty. It was the night before my senior prom, and I had a beach house with my best friends. Looking at the comparison, I don’t feel like I’m too far from being back like that picture. Happy realization for sure!! :)

The bottom picture on the left is the night of my high school graduation!!! Whoo hoo! Class of ‘05! Haha! When I came across this picture, I remembered that I still have this dress, so I tried it on yesterday, and to my surprise, it fits again! It doesn’t look quite the same as it did back then, but hey, it fit!

Anyway, those are my happy thoughts for the day. It feels good to know you’re heading in the right direction. However, realizing it’s been almost 10 years since graduation isn’t a happy realization—- where does time go?!?!? Slowwww downnn, life! Haha!

I’m not usually one to post the quotes on here but this shows how I was feeling tonight at Crossfit. It was one of those Love-Hate Relationship workouts where you hate it while you’re doing it but love the feeling of accomplishing it in the end. These hot summer days make running even harder than normal. 

The workout:
Strength/skill: 3x15 PVC overhead squats
WOD: 5 RFT
400 meter run
10 Toes 2 bar
10 Pistols (alt legs)

I can’t do the pistols yet and am not very good at the toes to bars, so I went scaled tonight and finished in 23:56. I’m content with this being the heat was working against me tonight. Ha! I was pouring sweat at the start of the warmup, so I was definitely drenched by the WOD. I think being at the beach in the sun all day makes the workouts that more strenuous, but that’s just my opinion. Ha!

I can’t believe this is my last week of freedom!! Where all of you are shouting “TGIF” tomorrow, I’m on the opposite end going “NOOOOO, go away Friday!!!” Haha!
