So… After coming home and propping my feet up for a bit yesterday, I decided to go to Crossfit after all, and I was happy I went. Thank you unofficiallycrossfitbanks for telling me I should go. I ended up going RX and beating the time goal of 20 minutes that I’d set for myself. 

The workout:
Skill – from high hang, full clean @40% of 1 RM 3 EMOM for 5 mins (65 for me)

The wallball shots were killer in these, and I could feel my cold in my chest, but I continued to push through it. I finished at 17:44 and was quite happy with that. :) Yay!

Today I’m getting some cleaning done then heading to Savannah for one of my best friend’s birthday shindig. It should be fun!

Guess what?!? It’s Friday!!! Hip-hip-hooray!!! Plus, it’s a three day weekend! Double excited!

I’m feeling much better than I have been today. My throat is still a bit sore and I’m still coughing, but it’s a major improvement compared to the past few days. Now I’m debating Crossfit tonight. Ha! I want to go, but I don’t want to go overexert myself on my first day feeling better. Plus, I don’t want to go and be stuck working out alone too. Friday nights are known for loner nights! Decisions… Decisions… Someone just tell me what to do. Haha!

I hope everyone had an amazing Friday and has an even better weekend! :) Thanks for all the get well comments and messages! Y’all are THE BEST! 😍

So… My plans for being back up to par today didn’t pan out quite as I’d hoped. I’m about ready to trade in my nose for a new one if it doesn’t stop trying to run away from me. Hopefully I will be feeling better tomorrow. I really want to get back to Crossfit tomorrow evening.

Despite feeling sick, I still try to put on my smile and make the best of the day. The students need the best version of me. We are digging into The Hobbit now and the kids are getting excited. I already had one student bring in a project. Those projects aren’t due until October. Hello over-achiever! I love it! :)

Today was a long day… My head is all congested along with headaches, sneezing, and a nose that’s trying to run away from me. Boo!!! I couldn’t even go to Crossfit tonight, which always breaks my heart! 💔💪 

On a more positive note, I felt cute today in my new smaller size pants. Yay! So… A work selfie was necessary! 😉 I’m hoping to get some sleep and wake back up to 100% again. Ha! Hey, it could happen!

I feel like I have sooo much updating and catching up to do! A weekend away from here requires a lot of back tracking. ;)

This weekend was a much-needed, wonderful weekend! Friday I went to see The Giver with my former students and the other ELA teacher. The movie sold out, and I’m pretty sure it was all my students in there. Saturday I went to the beach with another ELA teacher then painted canvases that night (with some wine). That was super relaxing! Sunday I went for a 2.5 mile run on the beach with Beau. This weekend was active and amazing.

Today was a good day as well! Crossfit makes me so happy. It’s kind of ridiculous how pumped I get over it. Not to mention, I can remember a time when I didn’t think I’d ever reach the rx side for any workouts… Now I’m residing over there quite a bit. ;)

Tonight’s workout:
Strength: 12x2 EMOM- Squat Cleans at 70% max—- 95 for me
WOD: 12 minutes on clock
1 minute max rep power cleans at 95
1 minute abmat sit-ups
2 minutes max rep power cleans at 95
2 minutes abmat sit-ups
3 minutes max rep power cleans at 95
3 minutes abmat sit-ups

I went rx tonight and got 189 reps total. Considering the fact I worked with 95lbs for the entire workout tonight including the strength portion, I’m quite impressed with my numbers. :)

The strength portion was easy tonight. I had to use 75 lbs for mine and got complimented on my form. Squat cleans are becoming second nature for me with all the extra focus on them this month.

I was living life on the edge tonight! I finished this workout without a second to spare! Literally!!! I was positive there was no way I was going to finish it, but I managed to push through. Barely. 

Well, tomorrow is Friday!!! Whoo hoo!!! It’s going to be a LONGGGG day for me. I promised my last year students that I’d go watch The Giver with them since we read it together, so I’ll be an hour and half away to see a 7:45 movie. I won’t be home until late! It’s worth it though- they’re so excited! I love my students.

Change is a good thing!!!

Someone at work called me into the break room to show me this picture they found of me from 2010’s Christmas party. He was in awe at how much I have changed. I seriously don’t even look like the same person.

When I start to have confidence leaks and doubt my progress or how I’m looking, seeing pictures like this one remind me of how far I’ve come versus where I’d let myself get. Wow! I hope to continue to progress toward a much better me. This is such motivation!

Apparently my Crossfit coach is all about the ladies this week. Yesterday was Helen and today we had Diane. I looked in my book and found where I completed Diane last October…

In October, I scaled down to 105 for deadlifts, strict pressed 45 instead of handstand push-ups, and finished at 9:35. Tonight I did the 155 deadlifts, did the handstand push-ups using mats, and finished at 10:13. I’m very content with this time considering how much my workouts have improved. I’m nowhere near as scaled now. Yay!!! Tomorrow is going to be a rest day for me. I feel like I’ve earned it. ;)

Tori and I are still staying on track with our cooking and eating healthy. Don’t get me wrong, I have a slip up here and there, but I’m probably eating paleo at least 90% of the time. That makes me feel like it’s a true lifestyle change instead if just a challenge or diet. I’m proud of that.

I need everyone to stop what they’re doing and read this!!! I rocked at Crossfit tonight! I needed a night like tonight soooo bad.

21 kb swings 35lbs
12 pull-ups

The squat cleans are growing to be one of my faves! I got a 20lb PR tonight and squat cleaned 145! You read that right! ;) Yay!!

Then Helen and I met face to face… and I went RX for the first time with her. My old time for Helen at scaled was 16:18, so I was planning to try to beat that initially. Then I decided I was going to take on the pull-ups without scaling them down. I did it! I finished at 19:13! Even though my time is much higher than last time, I improved tremendously. Oh, and I ripped my hands in 4 places. EWWW! Shower time is going to suck. It’s totally worth it though.
